Proudly owned and operated by Darren and Katie Lamp, Austral Meat was founded in 1986 at Churchill Road, Dry Creek – its first processing site.
In the early 1990s, Austral Meat moved to our Gepps Cross facility, and we have been here ever since.
Over the years, Austral Meat has undergone significant expansion and improvement to our processing facility and retail outlet. Austral Meat is proud to have a state-of-the-art facility, a unique and unrivalled retail experience, and a workforce of passionate, knowledgeable and dedicated employees.
Austral Meat Market
Working side by side with our onsite production team enables our retail store – the Austral Meat Market – to provide the freshest, highest quality products directly to the public. With our well trained team of retail, butchering and customer service experts, Austral Meat are able to provide a unrivalled meat shopping experience.
The Austral Meat Market grand opening took place in March 2022. This retail outlet has proven to be a huge success with customers now shopping from all over South Australia. Austral Meat Market provides free barista coffee and hot drinks on arrival to all it customers.

Sustainability practices
At Austral Meat, we ensure we use sustainable practices that provide minimal impact on the environment. We engage with suppliers who are fully accredited and who also deliver best practice. We are conscious of our environmental footprint and we have steps in place to ensure we are working towards a more sustainable future.
Wholesale inquiry
We currently supply some of South Australia’s top restaurants, hotels, steak houses and convention centres. We are HACCP certified.
At Austral Meat we deliver a personalised service. Not only do we deliver the highest quality and freshness, we offer chilled and frozen products, delivered in our modern fleet of custom built, accredited refrigerated vehicles.

Our quality guarantee
At Austral Meat we aim to provide the best quality products and services available. We will:
Guarantee 2 days life on all ‘over the counter’ stock and up to the Best Before Date on prepacked items.
If you find that items have not been consumable due to spoilage within these time frames please:
- Contact us during these time frames.
- Freeze product to return. Product that has been consumed cannot be replaced.
We will provide item/items of the same value as a replacement.

Are you Halal certified?
We are Halal Certified and offer Halal Beef, Chicken and Lamb.
Do you sell pet products?
We have a small range of pet only products. All other products are produced for human consumption.
Do you have grass fed beef and lamb?
We have available grass fed beef, and lamb at certain times of the year.
How to cook steak?
